YWAM Pismo's History

YWAM Pismo Beach & Central Coast was started in September of 2003 with a staff dedicated to living in community, reaching the Central Coast and the nations through evangelism and missions. The ministry began as a dream of Jeremy and Val Sizemore as they served with YWAM Las Vegas: "What if we started a YWAM base?" Gradually, the Sizemores recruited five other people to move to the Central Coast and begin this adventure of a new ministry.

Coming from all over the United States, seven people rented a big house in Grover Beach and started to work on this new ministry. The heart of the base was to live in de-centralized houses throughout the cities of the Central Coast, in order to reach out to the communities around us in friendship, and to release and train people in missions.

The base has now increased to 12 staff who are finding new ways to be involved in their community, serving with the local church and knowing one another.

Location
The Central Coast is located directly between Los Angeles and San Francisco, alongside the famous Highway 1. The area is well known for vineyards, surfing and California Polytechnic University. It is considered to be one of the best-kept secrets of California with beautiful mountains, lovely weather and friendly people.
